Ideas for Sex and the city theme party?

I am helping to throw a sex and the city party for a co-worker and need some ideas, seeing as how I never watched the show much. We have got the color pink as a theme, using cider and things as substitues for cosmos and martini%26#039;s (work related)... Any ideas on decorations, colors, etc? Any ideas would help.


What are things that are %26quot;signature%26quot; with the show that I could incorporate in there? (ie. cosmos, shoes, etc). I heard someone mention post- its, cupcakes, %26quot;flirtini%26#039;s%26quot;, any special candy or anything??-Thanks!!

Gucci, Halston, Versace, Prada, Vera Wang, Diane Von Furstenberg etc. logos and tags.


Large gaudy jewely, stiletto heals, designer knock off purses, hats.


For the Cosmos, just use cranberry juice, lime and a spritz of club soda to lighten the color.


They all seem to were lime green, bright oranges, yellow and fuscia.


Most of all it is the attitude and Mr. Big.

Well... my mom got invited to an opening party for that movie... they got a VIP room to watch it at the movie theatre and they all dressed up the sex and the city girls. Good designers and stuff: versace, gucci, d%26amp;g, d%26amp;b, etc... good luck with your party!

Reply:Tons of shoes. Carrie also seems to have a limitless supply of bras that are usually showing (especially across the back when she%26#039;s wearing a backless top).





In addition to cosmos, when the girls are hanging together at home, they often drink champagne. You could have bottles of sparkling cider.





Miranda has a weakness for chocolate cake. She even ate one out of the trash. They eat a lot of Chinese takeout when they are together (and Miranda eats that practically every night when she%26#039;s home). Charlotte bakes a lot of muffins. Episodes have also featured pizza and hot dogs (very NY).





It would be great if you could get some sort of NYC skyline as a decoration, even if it%26#039;s just a big poster that you make look like a window.





Samantha is very into sex toys. Might be difficult to incporporate that in tame party.





Play some lounge music CD%26#039;s, like the trendy restaurants they go to.

For colors, I would go with hot pink and black, it seems to be what they%26#039;re promoting the movie with, so I would go with those colors. You can do balloons and streamers, etc.





Definitely get martini glasses, the girls are always drinking cosmos and martinis and even champagne,etc.





You can get some martini glasses and fill them with Hershey kisses as a decoration and to just incorporate into the party. The martini glasses match the theme and the kisses well, there was always kissing going on and the wrapper color matches the pink and black. You can even let the guests take home the martini glasses filled with the kisses as their favors, or just use them as the serving bowls for the kisses.





You can also get some pink boas and put them around the party area for a festive and fun decoration. You can get some in black and white too, those would be a LOT of fun to have around the party area being the girls are all about fun and glamour! You can also have the guests pose with them and use them as photo props for the night! Get some funky sunglasses too and have guests wear them too!





You can also get some clear, stringed Christmas lights and hang them through the party area, that would add a nice party mood. rather than having some overhead bright lights, string the Christmas lights through the party area, all around and have them on during the party. That would make it a nice atmosphere and very city like.





If you can get some posters, black and white, or even colored of the city, hang them up in the party area. If you go to hbo.com you can even get Sex and the City posters to hang up in the party area.

I%26#039;m sure your friend, being a fan of the show, will come up with more questions too and there%26#039;s even a Sex and the City Trivia game that you can buy at HBO.com or amazon.com that she can get for her party. That would be a lot of fun to play!





For food, the girls ate a lot of different things, Chinese food, salads, etc., but I woud serve what you like. There%26#039;s no sense in having a party and serving food you don%26#039;t like. Have the foods that YOU like! If you do want to go with the things they ate, they did have a lot of Chinese food around each other, they had pizza, at one point they even went to a raw food restuarant! They had salads too when they went for lunch. Carrie ate peaches in Big%26#039;s bed a lot which he didn%26#039;t like, he said it made the bed sticky. She ate burgers with Berger. Miranda had a period where all she ate was chocolate cake when she was having a sex dry spell. Charlotte was always making people muffins, especially when she felt bad or as a gift. At Miranda%26#039;s baby shower, she insisted on fried chicken, so charlotte made that for her, so there%26#039;s lots of different options that you can make.

Reply:make some fake cosmos out of cranberry juice and white soda- serve in martini glasses from the dollar store. make up a fun game to match the designer purse with the name of its maker- copy and paste images from the internet on one side of a paper and mixed up designer names down the other side- then just make a line to the matching pairs (you can do this with designer shoes or the cast of the show also). they also have Sex and the City trivia games for cheap, I saw them at Walgreen%26#039;s- would be fun to play for a bit also. pick up some posters of the show to hang up, or maybe a cardboard cut out of the cast members. I saw a really cool large poster sized picture (one of those made to look like a oil painting) for $30 at Blockbuster.
