Does anyone know how much a wedding cost like on average?

Of course it%26#039;s not gonna be no celeb wedding but they%26#039;re will be about 200 people max.

I was thinking maybe around $10,000- $15,000 but i dunno it seems like it will be way more aaaaaah!!!

Now this is what I%26#039;m willing to pay on some of these things.

Note: I do not want a cheap looking wedding but then again I%26#039;m not no Donald trump (god damn you rich bastard lol)

MUSIC: ????

FOOD(includes wedding cake): ?????

HOTEL(where the wedding will be at): ?????

LIMO:

DRESS:willing to spend $300-$1000 ?????

SHOES:willing to spend $300-$500 ?????

TUX and SHOES: willing to spend up to $1500?????

HAIR:??? i dunno

MAKEUP: ???? you tell me

DECORATIONS: have no clue???

Does anyone know how much a wedding cost like on average?
A DJ can run you about $500 for 4 hours of service.

The wedding cakes can be done for $300-500.

A venue can run you a few thousand.

Catering for 200 people can run you $5000-10000, depending on how much you do.

Your dress estimate is reasonable.

Your shoe estimate (I feel) is way overpriced. No one will really see your shoes and you could purchase these for $30.

As for his tux, send him to Al%26#039;s Formalwear and rent a tux for $200-300 tops. There%26#039;s no need for $1500.

Hair %26amp; Makeup should run no higher than $150-200

Decorations (including flowers) can run about $1000

Total= Roughly $13000
Reply:My first one cost $4,000

Second cost $20 at the court house, plus we were given some gifts and coupons to help get started out.
Reply:It really depends where you live. I got married in Alexandria, VA (5 minutes from DC) and it is a really expensive place to live/get married/do anything. We tried to save money on everything but still tried to have a classy wedding. Try to get the hotel to comp A LOT of stuff. If you talk the talk, you can get a lot of stuff for free!

MUSIC: $100 I got the music together and hired a guy to play the music but not MC

FOOD(includes wedding cake): $50 per guest. Wedding cake was $150 but everyone thought it was $1k.

HOTEL(where the wedding will be at): $5k. Would have been $10k if not for business contacts.

LIMO: We took my dad%26#039;s new corvette convertible.

DRESS:Custom made $3k. My wife%26#039;s only over-the-top thing.

SHOES:$50

TUX and SHOES: Groomsmen rent their own. Men%26#039;s Warehouse will give the groom a free one if everyone else gets theirs there.

HAIR: My sister is a high priced hair dresser and did everyones.

MAKEUP: $150

DECORATIONS: We mixed real and fake flowers. A couple grand in real flowers and about a grand in fake flowers. My mother in law made the fake flower arrangements.

Everything really adds up. We got the church for free because my father in law is a preacher. invitations cost a lot. We made our own but spent $200 in stamps.

Our wedding had about 150 people at the ceremony and about 100 at the reception. It was about $20k, which is VERY cheap for the DC area. Everyone commented on how expensive everything looked, though.
Reply:my suggestion is to shop around. ask people at work if they would recommend any one place or anything. i spent $4000 total for my wedding all the way from wedding dress to reception including full bar and there was around 100 people in attendance. you can cut cost in mostly everything if you are willing to. the food was great and everyone said it was a beautiful wedding. i just hope they were not lieing
Reply:I am getting married and we have spent $18,000 total on EVERYTHING -

DJ - $1200

Food/Drinks - $8000

Hall Rental- $1200

Trolley (instead of a limo) - $1100

Dress - $800

Shoes - $50

Tux - Free with groomsmen rentals

Hair - $100

Makeup - $35

Anything else having to do with the wedding: flowers, centerpieces, attendant gifts, invitations, etc. made up the rest of the money we spent.

HAVE FUN!
Reply:Okay... for my wedding, I%26#039;m having it in California where everything is over priced, I%26#039;m having it at a very elite country club and still getting out of there for probably about $11,000 - $12,000. I%26#039;m cutting corners and having lots of hors %26#039;d oeuvres instead of a full meal (saving about 3k), which is still going to be plenty of food. I also got my cake at safeway instead of an expensive bakery. The safeway cake that I%26#039;m paying $300 for looks identical to the one I was going to pay $600 for at a big bakery.

You can save on invitations too. Target and Michaels have DIY invites. I%26#039;m doing those, I bought 100 sheets of velum and I%26#039;m printing on there and then tying a little bow with a silver heart hanging off the bow. it will look VERY elegant and not home done at all and I%26#039;ll be paying about $1.25 per invite. They%26#039;re gorgeous and half the price I would%26#039;ve paid to have that invite bought somewhere.

As far as these figures, I%26#039;ll give you what mine are so you have an idea.

MUSIC: A good DJ can be found for about $500.. just check around

FOOD(includes wedding cake): Cake $300 plus food, $5,000 (catered)

HOTEL(where the wedding will be at): about $1800

LIMO: $400 for four hours

DRESS: I paid $549 + $200 for alterations. Total of $749 @ David%26#039;s Bridal

SHOES: $50 David%26#039;s Bridal

TUX and SHOES: If you go with David%26#039;s Bridal%26#039;s tux retailer, your husband%26#039;s tux is free and you can get $20 off of each rental after that. And you don%26#039;t have to pay for the groomsmen%26#039;s tux. They pay for them on their own. So tux for you is free.

HAIR: Post an ad on craigslist. I%26#039;m getting all my hair and makeup for 5 bridesmaids and myself done by some girls a professional salon that want some side money for $150 for EVERYTHING

DECORATIONS: I%26#039;d budget in about $600 for personal flowers, then if you want decorations past that, about $1000?

Hope this helps! There are ways to cut budgets. Go walk around in Michael%26#039;s craft store and the ideas will start coming to your head immediately. They have amazing ideas!
Reply:it%26#039;s really up to you. there is alot of stuff you could do on your own to save money and it will still look good. it also depends on various companies (such as catering) and their prices. Hair and make up depends on where you go to get it done. I was lucky I happen to have family members that are professional hair dressers and make up artists.

i would say probably around $10,000 is a good range.
Reply:The average cost of a wedding in the US is in the mid- $20,000 range. You can spend less, but you%26#039;ll need to be careful about your spending--like probably not $500 on shoes. Your biggest part of the budget will go towards hte food/drink at the reception.
Reply:Everything Varies

Depends on how many people

Music can usually be done for $1000.

Cake anywhere for $200 to 2000. Depends on you.

Food may be provided by hotel different packages plan on anywhere form $35 -100 per plate

Limo anywhere from 300 - 750

Dress can do in your price range go to small local shops and look on ebay too. It is the fittings that get costly.

Shoes don%26#039;t spend to much, you usually take them off anyway

Mine were 300, and still look brand new ,and I took them off 1/2 thru and noone even sees them

Tux for everyone? how many people? usually arount 1-2 hundred per person shoes included

Hair? 100

Make up? do it yourself

Decorations - Centerpieces can be made yourself, get a craft book or a wedding decorations book and find what you like then price out making them.

You forget flower and that can be pricey. we did fake and made them ourselves copied a wedding book.

and Photographer

My wedding was 8 year ago and cost like $10,000. so add inflation and the number of guests we had 320 people.
Reply:I spent about 500 total to get married.

music hire a dj its cheaper than a band

food get your cake seperately at a good bakery

keep the food simple and as utensilless as possible

hotel this is gonna cost big time

limo they cost by the hour and only for the ride keep to min

dress you can find a good one on sale at any David%26#039;s

shoes Payless has a lovely selection for under 50

tuxes find a package deal rent 3 get one free

hair small salons are better they tend to be cheaper

make up do it yourself or have a good friend help

decorations tulle is a wonderful fabric and cheap

candles and bowls and that kind of stuff can

be found at places like Old Time Pottery for

pennies on the dollar

Don%26#039;t be afraid to put folks to work your family and his should be more than happy to help with this stage

A good caterer would give you a better idea of food and how much you need and the cost
Reply:I got married 5 years ago and I paid about $12,000. If you have a budget make sure you stick to it!

Music - Make some CDs of your favorite stuff and rent a sound system or borrow one from a friend. It is almost better than getting a DJ because they often will throw their own taste in the mix and not play the stuff YOU want. Plus, it%26#039;s dirt cheap to make CDs

Food - Depending on what you want to eat this is probably going to be the most expensive part of your wedding. The average cost is about $12/plate for a hot meal. One thing that is becoming very popular is having a summer wedding and having a BBQ (hotdogs and hamburgers) at the reception. I know it doesn%26#039;t sound fancy but it%26#039;s something everyone likes and once again, it%26#039;s cheap.

Personally, I found a wonderful caterer (by word of mouth) and got her down to $10/plate but with 450 guests it still ran me $4,500!!

Hotel/Venue - Some hotels have pacakges which include music, decorations, food, etc. Call some of your local hotels to inquire! You may have to spend a pretty penny for this, but it may be worth it for you.

Limo - You wont be spending much time in it so it%26#039;s really a luxury item. We just got the groomsmen to wash/wax the car and put some wedding pompoms on it. It worked just fine and we saved $$$.

Shoes - You%26#039;re crazy to spend $300-$500 on shoes! LOL I bought my shoes for $30.00 they were bridal sandals with a bit of a heal and glass beads (my glass slippers).

Dresses - Try David%26#039;s Bridal. And make sure wherever you buy your dress that alterations are FREE. Look for sales! I paid $1,000 for my dress, shoes, veil, jewelry and jeweled headband.

Tux: If you get all the groomsmen to rent a tux from the same place often they will give the groom his for free. About $120 each.

Hair: Call some of your local hair salons, you%26#039;ll have to book early. Also do several trial runs with the person who will be doing your hair for the wedding so that they know exactly what they are doing on your special day. About $50

Makeup: I bought some new stuff and did it myself.

Decorations: Candles Candles and more candles (dirt cheap). Take advantage of sales and warehouses also party rental places are GREAT.
Reply:I recently heard that the average wedding in Baltimore MD costs 32,000. That%26#039;s a down payment on a home. I say save your money, have a small ceremony. It%26#039;s the same piece of paper whether you spend 32000 or 500. I have been married for 12 years, and I don%26#039;t regret having a small wedding. In fact I am glad we did, because we had more money to start our marriage off with.
Reply:I got married a year and a half ago for approximately $15,500 total. That included a beautiful outdoor ceremony, dress, veil, shoes and accessories ($1,400), tuxes ($1,000), DJ ($600), photographer ($3,500), limo ($300), hair ($50), catered reception and hall - including a 3-hour open bar ($6,000), decorations, flowers and bouquets and wedding favors ($2,500), cake ($250) and then miscellanous items - personalized napkins, invites, programs, chair rentals for the ceremony, etc. at about $1,000.

Our wedding was gorgeous - not cheap looking at all - and we had a reception with approximately 250 people. The reception hall (at a local hotel) gave us a break if we catered our food there, which helped.

I think the prices of things vary depending on where you live. Just take the time to research prices on-line and check with a lot of stores. Good luck!
Reply:The average American wedding costs $28,000.
Reply:Try this - it tries to alter the answer based upon your location.

Where I am, the average is $28k, our budget is at $20k right now for 175 people. So there are ways to cut the budget down.

This gives you the average cost on a wedding in your area complete with each section
Reply:Altogether about 10k
Reply:Music-depends on your DJ and where you live (probably 1000 dollars and up)

Food-Again depends on the type of food

Hotel-35000 dollars and less (depends on what room and how many people)

Limo-Don%26#039;t have a limo to cut down on cost

Dress-David%26#039;s Bridel has sales where gowns are 90 dollars and up. Try spending under 1,500.

Shoes-Depends on what you get. 250 dollars max

Hair-Have your friends do it (it is free!). A month before the wedding, try out different hairstyles

Make-up-Do it yourself (free!)

Decoration-depends...A few thousand.

Are you having a wedding planner? They usally charge 10%-20% of your total wedding cost. For a 75,000 dollar wedding, the wedding planner get 12,000 of that.

Just be very cost-friendly. Look up ideas for simple, elegant, but cost-friendly decorations. And remember to just have fun!!!
