How did your OUTDOOR wedding turn out? Did you have to deal creatively with the weather?

We%26#039;re having an outdoor ceremony on April 13th. We have a rain location planned but haven%26#039;t really planned or practiced in it. The weather forecast keeps changing so I%26#039;m not sure what call to make. I%26#039;m interestedto know if any of you had an outdoor wedding and if so, how did it go? Rain ruin everything? Decorations blow over? Mud ruin people%26#039;s shoes? Things I should plan for and avoid? Did it end up fine? Did it end up terribly? Thanks!

How did your OUTDOOR wedding turn out? Did you have to deal creatively with the weather?
Our wedding was set for May 1st at a beautiful lake just outside of my hometown. 2 days before the wedding the forecast was calling for a high of 40 and an 80% chance of SNOW! In freaking MAY! (ya gotta love Nebraska weather - it had been in the high 70%26#039;s low 80%26#039;s for a month prior to this).

So anyways, we had to find a church and notify our 300 plus guests of the location change. The only church we could find was a small ugly church with a seating capacity of 120 people, and then the florist wouldn%26#039;t deliver our flowers to the new local for some reason. And the 200 plus people who couldn%26#039;t fit into the church ended up standing outside in the snow... luckily for them, the pastor accidentally skipped half the service adn from the time I walked up the isle to the time we walked out of the church, only 12 minutes had elapsed.
Reply:i had an out door ceremony, i did have a back up and we kept the possibliity in mind when making the decorations for the ceremony. in the end everything worked out as planned the only problem we had was that the isle decorations kept getting blown over by the wind so we tied them to the chairs. it wasn%26#039;t super windy by it was windy enough. i would definatly start looking at what you have and think about how you would do for plan b. april is touch and go as far as weather. our wedding ended up being wonderful and turned out pretty much exactly how i wanted it.
Reply:It will be wonderful. Relax!!! Our wedding is in June and is also an outdoor event. You have a back up plan that you won%26#039;t know until the last minute if you will need it- trust me- it will be fine (remember- pressure makes diamonds!)

as long as you have the right partner at the altar- everything else is gravy.

I%26#039;ll think sunny thoughts :)
